Day 1: Terminal 21, Bangkok, Thailand

I never thought I would go to Thailand with Cho. Totally not part of my plan.  I hate anywhere that is hot.  So, I would never imagine going to such a hot place in the middle of summer.  All the previous trip to anywhere exotic was with my entire family and my dad loves sun and beach.  Going anywhere exotic to me has the feeling of just chilling and lounging around, which is basically what my family does when we went to Maldive, Sabah or Phuket.  I have labelled these exotic trips as "family vacation" in my mind and should only be going with my entire family.

This time Cho planned a trip with one of her besties and the reason I joined or the only reason Cho let me joined is that adding an extra person in their room will make their entire package about US$100 cheaper.  That's the only reason I am good for...feel used...nonetheless, I had a great time.  I have totally forgotten how good it feels to be on a relaxing vacation rather than my crazy "walk till we die trips to Korea and Japan".

First stop in Thailand is Bangkok.  We took Air Asia and landed at DMK airport.  To save money, we decided to bring much luggage, as extra luggage will cost extra.  We just had our hand carry.  A good thing about going to these exotic places is that we don't need to bring much clothes as we won't really be wearing much.  So, our belongings were kept to the minimal.

We then took the taxi to Terminal 21.  The pictures online looked really pretty and it seemed like a fun place to shop.  But it's really not the case....

When we entered the mall, it says the Gourmet Market is at the basement.  There is no place to put our luggage, so we can to drag our luggage around with us.  To our disappointment, the so call "gourmet market" is really tiny with just a few stalls. We got some noodle!  Although there weren't many choices, but they were all so good.

As we were only allowed to bring one hand carry, we were unable to bring scissors with us.  Luckily, there is a Daiso in the basement of Terminal 21 and we went there to get a pair.  I need scissors for my falsies~  The Daiso is so small that it's sad.  Probably the smallest Daiso I've ever seen.

The malls is designed to be like airport and each level represents a different country.  I think the place is good for picture taking but nothing much to shop for.  There were either small brands or no brands at all.  The products is like things I would find in Mongkok's Fa Yuen Street or Woman Market, so I have no interest in buying anything.  But that is probably also because we were dragging our luggage around which made it hard for us to fully enjoy looking around.  The place didn't have much air conditioning which totally killed the very last bit of our mood to shop.

It was sale time, but we couldn't find anything that we could convince ourselves to buy.

There is a Let's Relax spa on the top floor but it was fully booked.  So, without anything to do at this place, we took a few pictures and took the train to Siam Paragon!
