Day 1: Airbnb at LG Palace - Seoul, South Korea

Went to Seoul again.  As much as I want to fly out of Asia, I am just lazy to plan a trip to a totally foreign place.  Also, hate flying for more than 4 hours each time as I would be spending 2 days on flight and I've got no time for that.

This was a totally spontaneous trip.  I quit my job, then book a flight the next day.  Flew out within a week.  I really need to stop quitting all of a sudden, which I think I will be able to do as I have found a job I somewhat like.  Been spending way too much over the past year....I flew away 6 times last year on vacation.....so, I really need to be a little more conservative when spending.  So, once again, we are booking through Airbnb.

From our experience in our last Seoul trip, we decided to find a place in Hongdae.  We usually stay at exit 3 of Hongdae.  This time, we found a place right next to exit 9!  The bustling area in Hongdae.  We stayed in Seoul Station last time.  Although Seoul Station is the central of everything, it's just not within the center of places I enjoy going to.  Hongdae is the place for us.  It's right above shops, restaurants and bars.  Also, connected to the airport railway.  No way would I go back to renting a place in the Seoul Station area.

It's within LG Palace which is about 10 steps away from exit 9 at Hongik University Station. It's basically the station kids would meet up when hanging out in Hongdae.  So, the entrance of the building is constantly filled with college kids waiting to meet up with their friends.

Our host was fluent in English (atleast he was fluent in texting).  He prepared for our self check in ahead of time.  The room has was big and has everything I can think of.  The 2 queen beds available were super comfortable.

The shower is separated from the toilet and has a glass door screen, so the place won't get wet.  Also, if someone is taking a shower, the other person can go poop without contaminating the washroom air.

The sink is between the shower and toilet.  The glass door to the right of the sink is the toilet.  And the wooden door is where the washing machine was located.

It was very simple to use.  Detergent provided.  Since our cheap plane ticket didn't include check in luggage, we had to bring the minimal.  We didn't bring enough clothes to change each day, so the washing machine came in handy.

We were so touched to find a hair straightener provided.  It's the first time I see an Airbnb studio that has hair straightener provided.  The blow dryer was also the strongest one ever provided by hotel/studios that I stayed in.  My 3 feet hair was dried in about 15 min of blow drying~

Just when we though the host can't be any sweeter, we opened the fridge and find juice, water, snacks and paper mask!  Love this host!  Can he be any sweeter?

This studio is at point U in Places Part 3 on the map below:
